Jelastic, Inc., the creators of the ultra-scalable and interoperable Java and PHP cloud hosting platform, today announced its commercial launch in Brazil after successful beta testing. Jelastic PaaS services are available through its partner Websolute, a South American hosting provider with spotless reputation.

“Since we launched our public beta in December of last year, we have already seen an extremely positive reaction from Brazilian users,” said Jelastic COO Dmitry Sotnikov. “We are very excited to announce Jelastic commercial availability in Brazil, with all its features and flexibility to host and scale complex Java and PHP applications, and now with full local service (in Portuguese!) from Websolute.”

Jelastic is generally acknowledged as a truly innovative cloud hosting platform: in 2012 it was honored with Duke’s Choice Award from Oracle, the so-called “Oscar of Java community”, thanks to unprecedented ease and convenience of cloud hosting. Instead of writing to specific APIs and adapting to platform constraints the developer simply chooses the necessary stack components and uploads the application. In a few minutes the it is up and running in the cloud. Minutes instead of hours – that is a real breakthrough in cloud hosting of Java and PHP applications.

“Three months of beta period have proved that Jelastic covers all sorts of difficulties common for this type of cloud hosting,” said Luis Schedel, director of Websolute. “The results could not have been better, Jelastic is on a par with the market’s leading solutions. We are absolutely sure that this product will be a success.”

The users’ testimonies collected during the beta period confirm the advantages of the platform. “Easy is the best word to describe Jelastic,” said Daniel Setton from Lembreteria company. “Vertical scaling is done automatically when it is necessary, preventing overloading of the site, and horizontal scaling can be done in a few clicks. In fact, everything can be done in a few clicks on Jelastic. This platform does make the developer’s life much easier.”

Jelastic provides the developer with a wide range of Java and PHP software stacks such as Tomcat, GlassFish, Jetty, Apache, NGINX application servers, as well as SQL (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, CouchDB) database servers and Memcached. Integration with popular build systems (Maven, Ant, Hudson, and Jenkins) and IDEs (Eclipse IDE and IntelliJ IDEA IDE) is also supported.

As of today Jelastic is available in the USA with ServInt, in Russia with RusOnyx, in Germany with dogado, in Japan with Tsukaeru, in Finland with Planeetta, in the UK and Ireland with Layershift, in Sweden with Elastx, in Switzerland with innofield, in the Netherlands with and in Brazil with Websolute.
